Studio Moyra

Studio Moyra is a knitwear atelier and maker brand born from a deliberate refusal to move faster than the hand. with our slow studio practice, We use a grounded mode of creation that prioritises time, material integrity, and intention over pace.

Every piece is hand-knitted or hand-crocheted in limited runs, inspired by temporal and spatial changes. with their quiet forms, soft textures, and the visibility and imperfections of human hands, Each piece is an invitation to slow down and find comfort in the essentials.

A quiet manifesto

Slow for us is everything and nothing grandiose, instead it is a disciplined everyday choice. It means choosing materials for their honest origins and tactility, designing with restraint, and resisting the acceleration that defines modern fashion today. Studio Moyra exists as a micro-protest against disposable tempo. we make to last in form and feeling. Wearing Moyra should feel like stepping off a noisy street and onto an island: a space of calm, clarity and breath.

Materials / the language of touch

Materials are not an afterthought, but the reason for making. The yarns we choose are local and considered: Portuguese wools spun in tradition, recycled cottons carrying a soft, lived-in weight, and plant fibres such as flax and linen chosen for their honest, calming properties. These fibres are selected to match or lift your vibrational frequency and to invite connection: to sit against your skin, to fold and move with you, to feel familiar with every wear. Material provenance matters to us not as a marketing line but as a tactile promise: that what you wear is rooted in place, craft, and care.

Practicality & intention

The pieces are designed to be everyday essentials: comfortable, unshowy, and enduring. Because they are made by hand in small series, each piece has a specificity that mass production cannot replicate. This capsule format allows the work to remain responsive and alive: inspired by local landscapes of traditions, by seasons, and by the maker’s moving geography. It also keeps production intentionally small, so each item receives time and attention, from the sketch to the weave-in.

Sustainability & responsibility

Sustainability at Studio Moyra is practical and integral. It is local sourcing where possible, using recycled and ethically produced yarns, producing in small runs to avoid surplus, and designing for longevity. The intention is not perfection but responsibility: to make choices that reduce harm and increase value to environment, makers, and wearers.

Care, longevity & relationship

We encourage gentle care for our Handmade knitwear: hand wash, dry flat, mend when needed. These actions extend the life of the piece and deepen the bond between maker, material and wearer.
